Baby Jogger City Turn Review
The popular Baby Jogger City Turn is back in stock and selling fast! I’ve been using it for a while now and it has totally saved my back and wrists! Here’s my review and some FAQ’s 😊
If you’d like to test it out in your vehicle, book in a demo and come and have a play!
Limits:
-Rear facing: 22.7kg or until the child’s head is 2.5cm below the adjuster handle on the headrest when fully extended (average 3-4 year old)
-Forward facing: 29.5kg, 124cm standing height, 45cm seated height, top of child’s ears must be below top of headrest, (average 5-7 year old)
What I like about it:
-The easiest install possible (takes just over one minute to securely install and put a child in).
-The swivel is fantastic for reducing pain if you are prone to a sore back or wrists. It also makes it a lot easier to get children in/out of high vehicles, tight parking spaces, or to transfer if they’re sleeping.
-It has an adjustable harness and headrest that easily move together as your child grows.
What I don’t like about it:
-The seat belt gets caught on their feet in some cars as you swivel - this can be reduced by sliding the belt behind the base against the vehicle seat.
-The crotch pad comes off too easily– I leave it off.
Best For:
-Caregivers who have sore backs/wrists or have trouble lifting a child into a static seat.
-If you are swapping the car seat between vehicles often – it’s just so quick and easy to move.
-Those who just have to have a swivel seat (I see you and it’s totally understandable)!
FAQ’s:
-Does it swivel forward facing?: It doesn’t swivel forward facing – though this isn’t really a deal breaker as most kids don’t want to be lifted into their car seat by the time they’re 3-4 years old.
-Does it have seatbelt booster mode?: No. Most seats that go “all the way through” don’t make great seatbelt boosters anyway.
-Does it have ISOFIX?: It does – don’t bother getting it out of the base though! The seat belt installation is so easy you don’t need to.
-Does it take up much depth for the vehicle passenger seat in front of it?: It takes up about the same amount of room as a capsule and base. It’s a mid range depth seat.
-Can I fit it in a 3 across setup? In a bigger vehicle with the right combination of seats, yes. Depending on the shape of the seat next to it, it may not fully swivel.
-How does it compare to other swivel seats?: No other swivel seats in NZ have the high limits or easy install this does. It fits in most cars, has extended rear facing, swivels level, and doesn’t require a locking clip.
